Katherine Ann Gachassin

New Iberia- Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Ann Gachassin, age 67, will be held Saturday November 9, 2013 at 4:00pm at Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Ryan Derouen to serve as the Celebrant. Visitation will begin at David Funeral Home on Saturday November 9, 2013 at 9:00am and conclude at 3:30pm with a recitation of the rosary at 2:00pm.

A native ofNew Iberiaand resident of Erath, Mrs. Gachassin passed away Thursday November 7, 2013 at 8:55pm at her residence in Erath. Mrs. Gachassin was the owner and operator of Duckys Daiquiri Stand of 15 years before she retired. She was a member of Woodmen of the World, enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, and helping others and caring for her grandchildren. She was a wonderful person and lived by the saying, Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

Mrs. Gachassin is survived by her daughter, Crystal Emery Bell of Erath; son, Billy Joseph Emery of New Iberia; grandchildren Brandon Joseph Bourg of Fruita, CO., Kenneth Kenny Paul Bell of Delcambre; brother, Warren Paul Gachassin Sr. and wife Sandy of New Iberia; sisters, Carmen Gachassin and fianc Bobby Delcambre of New Iberia, Georgette Blanchard and husband Tate of Cypress, TX.; and her best friends, Barbara Elkhan, Barbara Caddare, and Debbie Guidry.

She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Alvin Emery, parents, George and Brunella LaJaunie Gachassin; grandmother, Irene LaJaunie; brother, Roger Gachassin; sister, Joy Rita Gachassin; and nephew, Tate Blanchard II.

Pallbearers will be Lennis Brice, Warren Gachassin Jr., Jake Cuccia, Chad Dugar, Jacque Guidry, Jacob Guidry, David Lande, Stan Bubba Colley Jr., and Bobby Delcambre.

The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice for their care and compassion.
