Doris Peltier Ellender

New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Shirley Ellender, the former Doris Peltier, 83, on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Father Barry Crochet officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 26, 2014, from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Broussard, Mrs. Ellender died on Monday, February 24, 2014, at 7:20 PM in a New Iberia hospital. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She is survived by her sister, Diane Boutte and her husband Robert Davis of Broussard; her godchild, Debbie C. White of New Iberia; her nieces, Tina C. Broussard and her husband Jude of Youngsville, Tammy D. Ugland and her husband Wade of Alabama, Christie Breaux and her husband Christopher of Forked Island; her nephews, James R. Comeaux and his wife Karen of Metairie and Chad J. Boutte of Lafayette; her granddaughter, Debbie Smith and her husband Mickey of Lafayette and her godchildren, Cheri Bulliard and her husband Johnny of Broussard, Destiny Boutte of Lafayette and Megan B. Hebert and her husband Ryan of Georgia and Jessie Matthews of Broussard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley Ellender; her parents, Dolze J. Peltier and Louise Bourque Peltier; her brother, Roy F. Peltier; her sister, Shirley P. Comeaux and her grandson, Brian Ellender. Pallbearers will be Beau J. White, Chad Boutte, James Comeaux, Johnny Bulliard, Brady Breaux and Jerald McCormick
