New IberiaFuneral services will be conducted for Carl James Boutte, age 59, Saturday March 29, 2014, at 1:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Patrick Burke officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia, LA. Visitation will begin Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 9:00 AM to time of service. Born in New Iberia and lifelong resident of Coteau, Carl died at his residence on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 4:20 PM. Carl had a passion for riding race horses and boxing. In February of 1968 at the age of 13, he won The Golden Gloves title under the coaching of Bobby Broussard and Ronald Fremin. He is survived by his mother, Mildred Chevalon; daughter Carla B. Landry and husband Mike; son, Dustin Boutte both of Coteau; brother, Ronnie Boutte and wife Laine of New Iberia; sisters, Joyce Oubre and husband Melvin of New Iberia, Bernice Romero and husband Kenneth "Kenu" of Loreauville; Granddaughters Courtney Landry, Camryn Landry; and former wife Jackie Boutte from Coteau, LA, and numerous nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his father, Ossay Boutte and Grandson Brett Michael Landry. Serving as pallbearers will be Ross Boutte, Keith Oubre, Jeremy Boutte, Shane LeBlanc, Keith Delahoussaye, and Troy Romero.
