Erath - Funeral Services for Mrs. Louella "Lulu" Sonnier, 60, will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, March 31, 2014 at David Funeral Chapel of Erath with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 1:00PM until 9:00PM with as recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 8:00Am until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Migues Cemetery in Delcambre. A native and lifelong resident of Erath Mrs. Sonnier died at 7:35AM on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Maison du Monde Living Center. She was known for her enjoyment of playing pool, playing poker, and going to the casino. She is survived by her companion, Kelly Smith of Delcambre; two daughters, Donna Faye and her husband Ronnie Rochelle, Sr. of Duson and Christine DeBlanc and Tyson DeMahy of Delcambre; a brother, Dennis Sonnier of Erath; three sisters, Joyce Sonnier of New Iberia, Catherine Bourque of New Iberia, and Dianne Sonnier of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Joshua Sonnier, John LeBrun, Ronnie Rochelle, Jr., Spring DeBlanc Crisp and her husband Darren Crisp,II, Tyten DeBlanc, and Trenton DeBlanc; and a great grandchild, Ella Grace Crisp. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dudley and Olive Landry Sonnier; a brother, Wilson Sonnier; two sisters, Mary Fontenot and Janet Cheramie; and a son in law, Brian DeBlanc. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyten DeBlanc, Trenton DeBlanc, John DeBlanc, and Joshua Sonnier. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E. Putnam St. (337)937-0405 will be handling the arrangements.
