New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Percy Van Brocklin, Jr., the former Erlene Romero, 81, on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 11:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Chris Doumit officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Masuoleum. Visitation will be on Friday, April 4, 2014, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 7:00 PM A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Van Brocklin died on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at 2:29 AM in a New Iberia hospital. She loved sewing, cooking, gardening and growing flowers. She loved her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Percy Van Brocklin, Jr. of New Iberia; her children, Kerry Van Brocklin and his wife Marcia of New Iberia, Vicki Talbot and her husband John of Cypress, TX and Angela Van Brocklin of Breaux Bridge; her sister, Audrey Cormier and her husband Richard of Carencro; her brother, Dorres Romero and his wife Annabelle of New Iberia; her sisters-in-law, Eunice Pellerin and Gayle Romero both of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Jarrod and Neil Van Brocklin, Suzy Kent, Amy Talbot and Mallory Jeannice and her great grandchildren, Morgan Fernandez and McKenzie Kent. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Aline Viator Romero; her son, Ronald Van Brocklin and her brothers, Leroy, Wilton and Raywood Romero. Pallbearers will be Pete Talbot, Jeremy Kent, Neil Van Brocklin, Jarrod Van Brocklin, Kevin Romero and Kirk Romero.
