Erath - Funeral services for Larson A. Broussard, 93, will be held Saturday April 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Father Bill Melancon Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday April 11, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 5:00 PM by the Catholic Daughters, and a parish Rosary at 7:00 PM., and resumed Saturday April 12, 2014 from 8:00AM until time of services. Mr. Larson, was a lifelong resident of Erath, passed away on Thursday April 10, 2014 at Abbeville General Hospital, during his life he was a successful farmer, cattleman, and carpenter. Survivors include his wife Hazel Suire Broussard of Erath; his four daughters and their husbands Bonnie B. and her husband Johnny Broussard of Erath, Cheryl B. and her husband Mike DesOrmeaux of Erath, Susan B. and her husband Chris Broussard of Maurice, and Patty B. and her husband Teddy Broussard of Lafayette; fifteen grandchildren Steve Broussard, Maria B. LeGros, Michael Broussard, Michelle B. Wood, Julie B. Grisaffe, Amy DesOrmeaux, Matt DesOrmeaux, Anthony DesOrmeaux, Leah DesOrmeaux, Joel Broussard, Sarah Broussard, Abby Trahan, Laurie Lee, Beth Trahan, and Ana Trahan; fifteen great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and three step great great grandchildren. Mr. Larson was preceded in death by his son Larson A. Broussard Jr.; his parents Elie and Azena Langlinais Broussard; his sister and brother -in -law Hazel and J.G. "SU-SU" Barras, and his nephew Wayne Barras. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Broussard, Matt DesOrmeaux, Anthony DesOrmeaux, Joel Broussard, Derek Lee, and Brud Suire. Mr. Broussard's family wishes to thank Drs, Jeff Thibodeaux, Ronald Lahasky, Mark Charbonnet and their staff, and the staff of Abbeville General Hospital.
