New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Gary Eugene Prioux, age 68, Wednesday April 16, 2014 at 10:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Buddy Breaux officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum in Loreauville. Visitation will begin Tuesday April 15, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Wednesday April 16, 2014 from 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed Tuesday at 7:00 PM. A native and residence of Loreauville, "Buddy Boulet" as he was affectionately known, passed away Sunday April 13, 2014 at 10:50 AM at his residence in Loreauville. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, Member of Co. B medical 199th Spt. Bn in St. Martinville, Louisiana from 1965 - 1971. He retired from the Federal Soil Conservation Service. His hobbies were hunting and fishing. For many years Gary was the loving caretaker of his wife Sheila. Being her caretaker required the love and patience of a truly spiritual husband even though Gary never wanted much praise or recognition. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Lasseigne Prioux of Loreauville; daughter Sherry Ann Prioux of Loreauville; mother Marie Lee Bonin Prioux of Loreauville: brother, Lon Jude Prioux and his wife Shelia Trahan Prioux of Loreauville; sister, Betty Ann Prioux of Chapel Hill, NC; niece, Sonya Prioux Douet of Cecilia; nephew, Lacy John Prioux and his wife Roxie Lancon Prioux of Loreauville; grandniece, Taylor Marie Douet of Cecilia, grandnephew; Hayden Frank Prioux of Loreauville. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Joseph Prioux; his niece, Tonya Marie Prioux; his grandfather, Annas Prioux; grandmother, Constance Berard Prioux; grandfather, Anotole Bonin; grandmother, Clemone Frioux Bonin. Serving as pallbearers will be Lacy John Prioux, Forrest Eldridge, David Lee Prioux, Carl Eugene Prioux, Kenneth Prioux, and Rodney Prioux.
