Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Thursday April 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at David Funeral Home, for Gregory Scott Smith 55, with Pastor Weldon Moak Pastor of First Baptist Church of Broussard officiating. Visitation at David Funeral Home 316 Youngsville Hwy, Lafayette, La. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 5pm - 9pm, and Thursday, April 17, 2014 8:00am until service at 11am. Burial to follow at Lafayette Memorial Park. Greg was the owner operator of Offshore Equipment Services Inc., and worked in the oil field industry the majority of his life. He passed away Sunday April 13, 2014. A native of Oklahoma, and a longtime resident of Lafayette. He was a generous and kind soul who never met a stranger. Those that knew him were fortunate to have been blessed with the opportunity to enjoy his stories, jokes, and laughter. Greg was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the farm life. Greg is survived by his wife, Charlotte. Stepdaughter, Melinda Huckabay, her husband Jacob and their children Beau, Avery, and Hailey Huckabay. Son, Barry Smith and family. Brothers, Kim Null and wife Sandra. Kenneth Null Jr., and wife Sherrie. Sister, Connie Childers and husband Don. Numerous other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bobbi Jo and Kenneth Null, Sr. Pallbearers: Mike Bourg, Terry Boutte, Sam Cormier, Ronnie Forehand, Jacob Huckabay, and Paul Stephens.
