New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Oris Viator, Sr., the former Evelyn "Nan" Chevalon, 93, at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 21, 2014, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Mark Derise officiating. The readings at the funeral mass will be proclaimed by J. R. Thibodeaux and Hunter Crochet and the Gift Bearers will Jaci Viator and Alicia Romero. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 20, 2014, from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Monday, April 21, 2014, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 PM. A native of Coteau and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Viator died on Friday, April 18, 2014, at 8:48 PM in a New Iberia nursing facility. She was employed at Trappey's Fine Foods for over 42 years. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She loved cooking for her family and friends, taking care of her grandchildren and playing football pools. She is survived by her children, Anna Mae Hebert of Carencro, Stella Crochet and her husband Sonny and Oris Viator, Jr. and his wife Margaret all of New Iberia; her sisters, Mildred Boutte of New Iberia, Gloria Broussard of Coteau, Jeanette Viator of Youngsville and Mary Joyce Romero of New Iberia; her grandchildren, Trudy Thibodeaux, Lapelle Hebert, Shelly Richard, Joby Hebert, Keith Crochet, Chad Crochet, Rodney Viator, Jessie Viator, Alicia Romero and Oris "Trea" Viator, III; her step grandchildren, Nicole McMullan, Kim Michelle Meyers and Holly Gary; 19 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren and 8 step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oris Viator, Sr.; her father, Etienne Chevalon, Sr.; her mother, Clodora Lopez Chevalon; her son, Jessie Paul Viator; her daughter, Betty Jane Broussard; her brothers, Austin Chevalon, Sr., Howard Chevalon and Etienne "Jun" Chevalon, Jr. and her sons-in-law, Joseph Roy "Blackie" Hebert and Jerome Broussard. Pallbearers will be Joby Hebert, Keith Crochet, Chad Crochet, Rodney Viator, Jessie Viator and Trea Viator.
