Paul Hardy Hebert

Jeanerette- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Paul Hardy Hebert, age 79, on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1:30pm with Father Jody Simoneaux to serve as the Celebrant with musical accompaniment by Karen Guidry. Reading from sacred scripture will be by Maranda Wiltz. Burial will follow at Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visitation will begin Tuesday April 29, 2014 at 10:00am and conclude at 10:00pm with a recitation of the rosary and divine mercy chaplet at 6:00pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday at 8:00am until service time with a second rosary being prayed at 10:30am by his brother-in-law, Marvin "Ga" Hebert. A native and resident of Jeanerette, "Hardy" as he was affectionately known, passed away on Saturday April 26, 2014 at 7:25am at a New Iberia Hospital. He worked for Cabot Corporation for over 30 years as a Mechanic. Paul loved caring for his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending mass on a daily basis, going to Eucharistic Adoration, and traveling to religious events. Mr. Hebert also enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Paul was a prayerful, charitable and generous man. He will be dearly loved and missed by everyone that knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Eunice Blanchard Hebert; children, Mary Hebert Wiltz and husband Troy, Claudine Claire Hebert, Byron Jude Hebert; grandchildren, Todd Wiltz, Maranda Wiltz, Christopher Wiltz; former wife, Katherine Romero Hebert; sisters, Bertha Hebert and husband Marvin "Ga", Catherine Hebert Segura and husband Donald, Roselyn Hebert Hummert and husband Vic; brother, Gerard Hebert and wife Marleny; godchild, Marlene Hebert Whitten; numerous nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends that were close to him. He was preceded in death by his father Arthur John Hebert; godparents, Utcher and Ellen Blanchard; godchild, Dave Hebert; and nephew, Perry Hebert. Serving as pallbearers will be Gerard Hebert, Donald Segura, Troy Wiltz, Wes Pattillo, Raymond Hebert, Kenneth Hebert, Corey Bonin, and Chris Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd and Christopher Wiltz, and Byron Jude Hebert. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost St. (337)276-5151 is in charge of arrangements.
