Onelia Romero Domingue

February 18, 1920 — May 8, 2014

Youngsville - A Memorial Services for Mrs. Willie Domingue the former Onelia Romero, 94, will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Fr. Jason Mouton officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum. A native of Coteau and a lifelong resident of Youngsville Mrs. Domingue died at 6:50AM on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Maison de Lafayette Nursing Home. Mom-Mom or Mom-Mem , as some called her, was a very loving and strong lady. One might choose to remember her in your own different ways. She always loved cooking for her family and having everyone over ; you might remember the Sundays we would all sit on the car port and she would make homemade ice cream. She loved to play booray and would sit with the grandchildren and teach them how to play. Of course, she always won, but would give us all our money back. As we got older, she would say, "Oh, no sha; I taught you how to play now; you're on your own!" Many might remember her offering you a cough drop as a piece of candy because she ate them like candy. Oh, and don't forget about her famous chocolate bread she so lovingly stood at the stove and made. No matter how you choose to remember her, we all know she will never be forgotten. If there ever is a time you feel yourself missing her, just look for the white cloud in the sky; she's cleaning up there with 409 and pledge and a wet towel she will keep our house clean until we meet again. She's with Pop-Pop now, and they're flying with the angels. She is survived by a son, Chester Domingue and his wife Patricia of Slidell; six grandchildren, Carson Menard, William Menard and his wife Tisa, Shannon Menard and his wife Jeanne, Margaret Domingue, Paula Domingue, and Monica Domingue; seven great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Domingue; her parents, Laodis and Ophelia Rome Romero; and a daughter, Lucy Domingue Menard. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy (337)837-9887 will be handling the arrangements.
