New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Barbara Ann Frederick Elkhan, 69, on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at 1:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Derouen officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at 8:00 AM until services. A native and resident of Erath and a former resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Elkhan died on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 8:10 AM in an Abbeville nursing facility. She was a pre-need funeral plan sales person for several local funeral homes in the area. She also worked at Restlawn Cemetery in Orleans Parish for several years. She loved to travel and going to the casino and going to horse races with her son Chad. She is survived by her son, Chad Dugar and his wife Misty of River Ridge, LA; her daughter, Kristi LeNoir LaBiche and her husband Aaron of Abbeville; her step-daughters, Hayat Elkhanoufi Arnold of Texas and Fotini Elkhanoufi of Ohio; her step-son, Michael Elkhanoufi of New Orleans; her former husband, George Elkhan of New Iberia; her siblings, Gerald Frederick of Scott, Donald Frederick and his wife Gail, Jeanette Gautreaux and her husband Clifton, Thomas Dale Frederick, Sr. and his wife Mae all of Erath, Terry Frederick and his companion Tammy Bennett of Pasadena, TX and Geri Frederick and her companion Johnny Romero of New Iberia; her half-brother, Ronnie Courville and his wife Kirsten of Lafayette; her half-sister, Jackie T. Bonin and her husband Buddy of St. Martinville and her grandchildren, Trace Dugar, age 24 of River Ridge, Lexy Schexnayder, age 17 of New Iberia, Christopher Bourne, age 15 of River Ridge, Bo Schexnayder, age 13 of New Iberia and Paris Dugar, age 11 of River Ridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel "Noyd" Frederick and Zula Lopez Frederick and her brother, Manuel Curtis "M.C." Frederick. Pallbearers will be Gerald Frederick, Donald Frederick, Terry Frederick, Ronnie Courville, Aaron LaBiche and Trace Dugar. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Dale Frederick, Sr., M'Barek Elkhanoufi, Christopher Bourne and Bo Schexnayder.
