Lydia Mendoza JeaneretteFuneral service will be conducted for Lydia Mendoza, age 54, Thursday, May 29, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. Visitation will begin Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 6:00PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 8:00 AM until the time of service Native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Lydia died at her residence on Friday, May 23, 2014, at 7:45 AM surrounded by her family. She had a career as a seamstress in the clothing manufacturing and loved camping and shopping. Lydia is survived by her mother May Derise Mendoza of Jeanerette; her lifelong companion, Mr. Louis "Fra" Dupuy of Jeanerette; sons, Brad Anthony Robicheaux of Jeanerette, Ronald Mendoza and wife Annie of Jeanerette, Servondo Gonzales II of Moreauville; her daughter, Ann Gonzales of Houston, TX; sisters Anita Boudreaux of New Iberia, Ruth Landry of New Iberia, Cynthia Picard and husband Russell, and brother Carl Mendoza and wife Dianne of the Philippines; step-daughters, Billie Joe Dupuy of New Iberia, Monica Young of Kentwood and Michelle Romero of New Iberia; grandchildren, Zachary Mendoza, Jaden Hill, Kallum Hill, Jace Hill, Julian Gonzales and Christian Mendoza; grandchildren, Nicholas Romero, McKinzie Young, Gavin Young, Miriah Dupuy and Randy Bourque, Jr. She is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Anthony Mendoza; son, Neil Anthony Mendoza; brother, Keith Mendoza and brother-in-law, Joe Boudreaux. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Guidry, David Colson, Servondo Gonzales, Mark Dupuy, Ryan Picard, Dereck Duplantis, Shawn Domingues and Rusty Gros. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Mendoza, Brad Robicheaux, Zachary Mendoza, Jaden Hill, Kallum Hill, Jace Hill, Julian Gonzales and Christian Mendoza.
