Barry Paul "Jumper" Jumonville

January 16, 1963 — May 25, 2014

Charenton- Funeral services for Mr. Barry Paul "Jumper" Jumonville, age 51, will be held on Friday May 30, 2014 at 7:30pm at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette with Deacon Steve Van Cleve to serve as the officiant. Reading from sacred scripture will be Maria White, Anne Marie Jumonville, and Teresa Toups. Interment will follow at a later date. Visitation will begin Friday May 30, 2014 at 5:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will conclude at 9:00pm. A native of Franklin and resident of Jeanerette, "Jumper" as he was affectionately known pasted away on Sunday May 25, 2014 at his residence from a short bout with cancer. "Jumper" worked offshore as a pipeline welder for many years with Calais and Calais and also Chet Morrison. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was a loving son and brother who will be missed dearly by all family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Elsie Bouton Jumonville of Jeanerette; two brothers, Henry Jumonville and wife Gwen, and Cardell Jumonville Sr. both of New Iberia; sister Elodie Alvarez and husband Wilfredo of Jeanerette; step-daughter, Theresa Guillotte; five step-grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews, Cordell Jumonville Jr. and wife Jackie, Leslie Cordova and husband Carlos, Maria White and husband Keith, Jacob Jumonville and wife Jamie, Teresa Toups and husband Byron, Anne Marie Jumonville and fiancé Josh Napier, Nicholas Jumonville, Carlos Alvarez, Henry Alvarez and wife Korina; great-niece; Brittany; step-niece, Tiffany; a very good and loyal friend, Michael St. Germain, along with many friends he worked offshore with; Also his other best friend, his dog, Diamond Girl. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles "Hoppy" Jumonville; maternal grandparents, Gaston and Hortense Bouton; and paternal grandparents, Walter and Valerie Jumonville. The family would like to thank all of Barry's friends and family for all of the prayers and support during this difficult time.
