Abbeville - A mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Nelson Pierre Frederick, the former Therese Gladys Dyson, 88, will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00PM with Fr. Kenneth Mayne officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on same day from 8:30a.m. to 1:45p.m. with recitation of the Rosary and Eulogy at 10:00 a.m. Entombment services will be at the St. Paul Garden Mausoleum. Theresa Gladys Dyson was born on March 29, 1926, on Chenier-au-Tigre, La. She was reared there along with 2 sisters and 2 brothers on the quiet, exciting haven. Later moving into town, she graced those who surrounded her with patience, kindness, love, and determination. She was an excellent seamstress, loved to read, and was attentive member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Her most treasured trip was to Medjugorge, Yugoslavia. Mrs. Frederick, a long time resident of Abbeville was devoted to her family as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was employed at two former businesses in Abbeville, Singer Sewing Company, and Landry's Store. Her love for sewing and attention to detail made her an asset to her employers. She is survived by her children Cheryl "Pie" Domingues and husband Robert "T-Bob" from Erath; Ronald Frederick and wife Cynthia from Jennings; Jacquelyn Maida and husband Salvador, Jr. From Houston; Larry Frederick from Abbeville; and Sheila Trahan and husband Roddy also from Abbeville. Surviving siblings are Earline Dyson Broussard from Abbeville and Floyd Rae Dyson from Kenner. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Nelson Pierre Frederick; parents Israel O'Neil Dyson and Alice Suire Dyson; and 2 siblings Curley Dyson from Butte La Rose and Beulah Dyson Thibodeaux from Parks. She is also preceded in death by a second husband, Francis Frederick. Pallbearers will be grandsons David Domingues, John Frederick, Brandon Trahan, Dr. Blake "Dyson" Maida, Ryan Trahan, Vince Maida, Grant "O'Neil" Trahan, and great grandson Daniel Domingues. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be great grandchildren, Seth Domingues, Owen Domingues, Leila Deslatte, Cohen Ramirez, Luke Ramirez, Julien Ramirez, Brennan Bailey, Caroline Bailey, Matthew Bailey, Ethan Bailey, Hudson Adame, Jillian Maida, and Michael Shumaker. Serving as readers of Eulogy will be her granddaughters Leslie Deslatte, Amy Adame, Katelyn Maida; great-granddaughter Brittney Plympton; and granddaughter-in law Jenny Domingues. Serving as readers in church will be her grandsons Dr. Blake "Dyson" Maida and Vince Maida. Serving as gift bearers will be grandchildren Kristy Ramirez, Claire Bailey, Salvador Maida III, Laura Plympton, Darla Shumaker, and great grandson Salvador Maida IV. Also serving as gift bearers will be great-grandchildren-in law: Anna Maida, Roger Adame, Dr. Brian Bailey, David Ramirez, and Kyle Shumaker. The family wishes to extend very special thanks to her son, Mr. Larry "Jude" Frederick, for the special unending care, patience, and love given to his mother, for years, on a daily basis.
