Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for James William Rogers, 77, on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1982 of New Iberia and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 7:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:00 PM. A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Rogers died on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 4:07 PM at his residence. Mr. Rogers was a "Loving Father & Grandfather". He was a retired Drilling Consultant and love to fish and going to the Casino. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Ann Rogers of New Iberia, Susan Ann Louviere of Delcambre and Tammy McClendon and her husband Chad of Loreauville; her sons, Glenn M. Rogers and Irvin George Rogers and his wife Bonnie all of New Iberia; her sisters, Patricia "Put" Buxton and Betty Rogers both of Starks; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford E. Rogers and Bernice Broussard Rogers; his daughter, Carolyn Rogers Romero; his son, William James Rogers, Sr.; his brothers, Edward Buford Rogers and George Irvin Rogers; his sisters, Ann Zimmerman and Nancy Aucoin; his granddaughter, Angel Racca Rogers and his brother-in-law, Harold "Peco" Aucoin. Pallbearers will be Dusty Rogers, Jordy Rogers, Jason Segura, Hugh Braisher, Rodney Sanders and Joseph Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad McClendon, Braten McClendon, Corey Rogers, Brady Rogers, Johnny Segura, Jeramie Segura and Scott Romero.
