Opta Trahan, Jr.

Funeral services for Opta Trahan, Jr., 77, will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at 1:00PM at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville with Father Jason Mouton officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anne Mausoleum. Visitation was held Monday, July 14, 2014 from 3:00 PM until 10:00 PM and Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 8:00AM until Service time. He was a native of Maurice and lived most of his life in Youngsville. He was a foreman of a construction crew that builds roads and highways. He is survived by two sons, Kirk Trahan and his wife, Pat and Kyle Trahan, all of Youngsville, two daughters, Kolette Babineaux and her husband, Kevin and Kristie Shores, and her husband, Doug all of Youngsville, two brothers, Cliff Trahan, and his wife, Bernice and Harold Trahan, and his wife, Della. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Faye Hebert Trahan and his parents, Opta and Inez Boudreaux Trahan, Sr. Proud to serve as pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Dylan Trahan, Jacob Babineaux, Jance Babineaux, Dustin Shores, Darrel Trahan, and Jeremy Trahan. In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be sent to St. Jude Children Hospital. David Funeral Home of Lafayette(337)837-9887 will be in charge of all arrangements
