Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for Anthony "Tony" Mendoza, 103, on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 8:00 AM until service. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00 PM. A native of Jeanerette, a resident of New Iberia and a former longtime resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Mendoza died on Monday, July 14, 2014, at 10:45 PM at his residence. He was a retired carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his son, Bobby Mendoza of Thibodeau; his daughter, Marcelle Gonzalez of New Iberia and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Crochet Mendoza; his parents, Eugene Mendoza and Alice Landry Mendoza; his son, Ronald Mendoza; his brothers, Frank, Dell, Villarie and Luke Mendoza and his sisters, Vivian Derise and Julie Broussard.
