New Iberia- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Yvonne Voisin Tauzin Judice, age 76, on Friday July 25, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Loreauville. Father Buddy Breaux will serve as Celebrant will musical accompaniment by Jody Bollick. Readers will be her godchild, Cindy LeBlanc and Dean Greig. Giftbearers include Lauren Judice and Emily Broussard. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter St. on Thursday July 24, 2014 from 3:00pm until 9:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume on Friday July 25, 2014 from 8:00am until service time. A native of Grand Caillou, La. Yvonne passed away on July 22, 2014 at 9:35pm at her residence with her family by her side. She Graduated with honors from Terrebonne High School in 1956 and then received a R. N. diploma from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans in 1959. Yvonne touched many lives with her gentle loving spirit during her 42 year nursing career in which she worked at Terrebonne General, Dauterive Hospital, LaSalette Memorial Hospital in Loreauville, and the Iberia Parish Health Unit. Yvonne was always proud of her association with her Terrebonne High School classmates, Mercy Hospital Nurses Alumnae, Retired State Employees Association of Louisiana, and St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Yvonne valued all of her friendships that evolved from these associations and made efforts to remain connected. She looked forward to going to craft shows with her husband, gatherings with family and friends, attending her grandchild's sporting events, visiting the elderly, playing pokeno with the same group for over 50 years, watching professional and college football on television, and exercising at Curves. Yvonne is survived by her husband of 22 years, Gerald Judice; daughter, Monique Tauzin Vice and husband Timothy of New Iberia; son, David J. Tauzin of Houma; two step-daughters, Lauren Judice of New Iberia, and Emily Judice Broussard and her husband Garland, Jr. of New Iberia; step-son, Eric Judice of St. Martinville, five grandchildren; Talmon Vice, Jacob Tauzin, Scott David Vice, Luke Tauzin and Allison Broussard; and daughter-in-law, Alisa B. Tauzin. Survivors also include her two brothers and two sisters, Evest Voisin, Jr. and wife Mary Helen, Lloyd Voisin and wife Millie, Stella Duplantis and Martha Duplantis, all of Houma, as well as, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, David P. Tauzin; son, Mark D. Tauzin; parents, Evest Voisin, Sr. and Viola Thibodaux; and two sisters, Zoella Luke Boyer and Vivian Vincent Hebert. Pallbearers will be Eric Judice, Talmon Vice, Jacob Tauzin, Scott David Vice, David Tauzin, Tim Vice, Garland Broussard, Jr. and Luke D. Tauzin. Honorary Pallbearers will be her former co-workers and dear friends from the Iberia Parish Health Unit who showered her with love and endless support throughout her journey. Special appreciation goes to the Ambassadors for Christ Prayer Group for faithfully devoting their time to spiritually lift up Yvonne and others in the community; family and friends for all of the visits, prayers, cards, phone calls, supporting and encouragement; and lastly, those who assisted with her health care, particularly Joyce Green and Hospice of Acadiana.
