Gertrude Boudreaux Comeaux

September 25, 1928 — August 15, 2014

New Iberia- Funeral services for Mrs. Warren J. Comeaux, Sr., the former Gertrude Boudreaux, age 85, will be held on Tuesday August 19, 2014 at 10:00am at the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter to serve as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will begin on Monday August 18, 2014 begin at 5:00pm and concluding at 9:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume on Tuesday August 19, 2014 from 8:00am until service time. A native of St. Martinville and resident of New Iberia, "Gert" as she was affectionately known passed away on Friday August 15, 2014 at 8:23pm at a local nursing facility. Mrs. Comeaux was an amazing cook and enjoyed the Price Is Right, but her true passion was her family. She loved her family dearly and she meant the world to them. She was a devout wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she will be sadly missed. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, Warren J. Comeaux, Sr.; children Warren J. Comeaux Jr. of St. Martin Parish, Susan C. Hunter of Lafayette; grandchildren, Jeff Hunter and wife Christi of Lafayette, Kelly Cini and husband Robert of Deridder; great grandchildren, Philip Cini, Victoria Andrus, Matt Andrus, Grace Hunter all of Lafayette, Joseph Cini and Sylvia Cini both of Deridder; brother, Louis Boudreaux Sr. and wife Dorothy of New Iberia; sisters, Alberta Theriot of Erath, and Helen May Miller of New Iberia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adler Boudreaux Sr. and Yola Latiolais Boudreaux; brother, Adler Boudreaux Jr.; and son-in-law, George Hunter. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Warren J. Comeaux Jr., Jeff Hunter, Philip Cini, and Robert Cini, Matt Andrus, and Joseph Cini. The family would like to thank the Belle Teche Nursing Home Staff and Nurses, as well as Hospice Compassus, Brenda Delcambre, and Connie Van Cleve for the loving care given to Mrs. Comeaux and their compassion for the family.
