Susan "Sue" Comeaux Hunter

New Iberia- Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Susan Theresa Comeaux Hunter, age 61, on Friday August 22, 2014 at 3:00pm at the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter to serve as the Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park. Visitation will begin on Friday August 22, 2014 beginning at 9:30am until service time with a recitation of the rosary at 2:30pm. A native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette, "Sue" as she was affectionately known passed away on Tuesday August 19, 2014 at 11:50am at a Lafayette hospital. Mrs. Hunter was the proud military wife of the late U. S. Air Force Master Sergeant and Vietnam Veteran George J. Hunter. Mrs. Hunter was an avid outdoorswoman. She enjoyed Bass fishing, and going to the camp on Bayou Benoit with her husband. She also adored the time she spent with her grandchildren playing bingo and board games, and telling stories. She was a kind and patient person with a heart of gold. Her family will remember her as a loving mother, great wife, caring daughter, and gentle grandmother. Her survivors include her father, Warren J. Comeaux Sr.; children, Jeff Hunter and wife Christi of Lafayette, Kelly Cini and husband Robert of Deridder; grandchildren, Philip Cini, Victoria Andrus, Matt Andrus, Grace Hunter all of Lafayette, Joseph Cini and Sylvia Cini both of Deridder; brother, Warren J. Comeaux Jr. of St. Martinville. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Boudreaux Comeaux. Pallbearers will be Jeff Hunter, Robert Cini, Philip Cini, Warren J. Comeaux Jr., Jimmy Hunter, and William Hunter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Andrus, and Joseph Cini. Family and friends are encouraged to sign Mrs. Hunter's online guestbook.
