Lydia - Funeral services will be conducted for Donnell Joseph Naquin, 84, on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 9:30 AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Father Gregory Chauvin and Father Charles Langlois officiating. Readers for the mass will be Sandra N. Landry and Leslie L. Kee. Interment will follow in the Broussard Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites to be conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the V.F.W. Post 1982 Honor Guard. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home at 1101 Trotter St. in New Iberia on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 8:00 AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia. V.F.W. Post 1982 will conduct a Ritual in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM and a recitation rosary will follow at 7:00 PM. A native of Louisa and a resident of Lydia, Mr. Naquin died on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 5:45 AM at his residence. Mr. Naquin retired as the Regional Director of the South Louisiana Vocational Rehabilitation. He was a member of the American Legion Post 365 and V.F.W. Post 1982. He served with the 28th General Hospital in France in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eleanor Fontenot Naquin of Lydia; his daughters, Donna Naquin Segura and her husband Dr. Eugene Segura of Cankton and Mary Celeste Naquin Clement and her husband Timothy Clement of Cade; his sister, Lois Naquin Lester and her husband Les of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Christopher Segura of Lafayette, Tyler Clement, CPT U.S. Army and his wife Katie of Baton Rouge and Sarah Ashley Clement of Cade. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Loria Saunier Naquin and his brother's, Leroy, Clarence and Howard Naquin. Pallbearers will be Dr. Eugene Segura, Christopher Segura, Tyler Clement, CPT U.S. Army, Timothy Clement, Donald Gaspard and Howard Naquin, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Landry, Kenneth Fontenot, Andy Horton, David Moore, Sr., Neil Naquin and Les Lester. The family would like to thank Dr. George Sagrera and his staff, Dr. John Leleux, Dr. Mohamad Allam, Heart of Hospice and Heart Hospital of Lafayette Nurses.
