Loreauville - Funeral services will be conducted for Melba Dugas Verret, 86, on Friday, August 29, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Friday, August 29, 2014, at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00 PM. A native and resident of Loreauville, Mrs. Verret died on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at 5:57 AM in a New Iberia nursing facility. She was a retired Beautician and a Religion Teacher. She loved going to the casino, dancing and playing cards. She is survived by her sons, Errol J. Verret, Sr. and his wife Karen of Loreauville and Thomas Charles Verret and his wife Connie of Baton Rouge; her daughter, Darlene V. Borg and her husband Mike of Montgomery, TX; her brothers, Claude Dugas, Sr. and his wife Nola of Loreauville, Antoine Dugas, Jr. and his wife Deanna and John Creed Dugas and his wife Marion all of New Iberia; ten grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew A. Verret; her parents, Antoine Dugas, Sr. and Emma Broussard Verret and her sister, Mable Dugas Broussard. Pallbearers will be Byan Borg, Justin Schwing, Errol Verret, Jr., Kameron Broussard, Jordy Broussard and Joseph Verret. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Borg, Errol Verret, Sr., Tom Verret and Jeff Post.
