George "Butch" Etie

November 8, 1932 — September 9, 2014

Loreauville - Funeral services will be conducted for George B. "Butch" Etie, Jr., 81, on Friday, September 12, 2014, at 10:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Parlor with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery in New Iberia with Military Graveside Rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1982 of New Iberia and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM and resume on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 8:00 AM until the service time. A native of St. Martinville and a resident of Loreauville, Mr. Etie passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 12:00 AM at his residence. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Air Force. He retired as Trooper First Class with Louisiana State Police Troop I and also worked with Region II Detectives. He was currently employed with the Iberia Parish Sheriff Office. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Robin Etie of Loreauville; his son, Dean Etie of Loreauville; his daughter, Linda Parish; his grandchildren, Tabitha Etie and her partner Kristelle Fabacher and Krista Etie and her fiancé, Eli Stelly all of Loreauville and his great grandchild, Chole Stelly of Loreauville. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Etie, Sr. and Amy Guilbeaux; his son, David Etie and his half-sister, Tuttie Broussard. Pallbearers will be Warren Robin, Sam Robin, Eli Stelly, Dean Etie, Alan Robin and Jude Robin.
