Rynella- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. William Guidry, the former Sandra Hollier, age 68, will be held on Saturday September 13, 2014 at 11:00am at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Father Eugene Tremie to serve as the Celebrant and Father Conley Bertrand to serve as Con-celebrant. Reading from sacred scripture will be Jonathan Guidry and Michelle Armentor. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday September 12, 2014 at 5:00pm and conclude at 9:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue Saturday morning from 8:00am until service time. A native of Lafayette and resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Guidry passed away on Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 2:25pm at Lafayette General Medical Center. Mrs. Guidry was a devout Catholic. She was a Parishioner of St. Marcellus Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister to the sick, shut-in, near death, and at church. She was employed at Sugarland Exterminating Company for 15 years and enjoyed her work immensely. She also served on the Council and Committee at SMILE and was a Leader of the Come Lord Jesus Meetings. Mrs. Guidry loved feeding and watching hummingbirds and also loved playing with her grandchildren. She was always a very supportive and encouraging Grandmother. Mrs. Guidry was a strong woman and a pillar of the community and will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William G. Guidry of Youngsville; father, Al Hollier of Scott; children, Jonathan Guidry and wife Cara of Bloomington, IL, Ryan Guidry and fiancée Sherlyn of Youngsville, William "Billy" Guidry and wife Erin of New Iberia, Michelle Armentor and husband Justin of New Iberia, Mary Dugas of Youngsville; 10 grandchildren; and one brother, the Honorable Danny Hollier Sr. and wife Katherine of Scott. She is preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Williams Hollier. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Guidry, David Guidry, Ryan Guidry, Billy Guidry, Justin Armentor, and Joey Coté. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Hollier Jr., Hayden Dugas, and Kadyn Taylor. The family would like to thank the nurses of the 8th floor oncology unit at Lafayette General Medical Center for their care and compassion.
