Abbeville- Funeral Services for Betty McCullor Frederick, age 78, will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at David Funeral Home Chapel in Abbeville with Rev. Dave Rousse officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 9:00AM until 10:00PM. Visitation will resume on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 8:00AM until services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. A native of Maplewood, LA and a long time resident of Abbeville, Ms. Frederick passed away at 5:05PM on Thursday, September 11, 2014. In the community, she was a retired school teacher of thirty one years, was a past president of the Vermilion Association of Educator, and a delegate to the democratic convention in 1984. Ms. Frederick enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, singing in church choirs and teaching bible study. She was truly an amazing woman and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Ms. Frederick is survived by four daughters, Cynthia Clair Guillot and her husband Dwayne of Maurice, Catherine Frederick Suire of Abbeville, Carla Frederick Dutile of Lafayette and Carol Frederick Vidrine and her husband Lonnie of Abbeville; two brothers Vernel James McCullor of Plano, TX, Douglas Mac McCullor of Moss Bluff; One sister Patricia Scofield of Lake Charles; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Vernel Lee McCullor and Inez Chapman McCullor; her former husband Preston J. Frederick; one brother Richard Dean McCullor; and one grandchild Zane Frederick Suire. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Frederick, Blake Vidrine, Zachery Suire, James Dutile II, Scott McCullor and Dwayne Guillot. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice and Pelican Point for their care and support.
