Lafayette- Funeral Services for Oliver Curley Broussard age 85, will be held Tuesday September 16, 2014 at 1:30PM in David Funeral Home with Deacon Cody Miller officiating. Visitation will be a David Funeral Home Tuesday September 16, 2014 from 8:30AM until time of service. Interment will be in Leblanc Cemetery at a later date. A Native of Milton LA, and a resident of Abbeville, Mr. Broussard passed away at 8:15AM on Sunday September 14, 2014 at his residence. He served in the United States Army from October 1952 until October 1954. Mr. Broussard worked for Evangeline Downs for thirteen years and was a Lafayette Sheriffs Deputy. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty three years the former Helen Hebert ; one daughter, Sandra Delatte and husband Tommy of Denham Springs; two sisters, Gurlie Stiener of Milton, and Pearl Dugas and husband Moise of Milton; four grandchildren, Rhonda Laviolette and husband Chris, Rachel Taylor and husband Kevin, Keli Wilks, and husband Terry, and Ty Delatte; six great-grandchildren, Hannah Laviolette, Drake Taylor, Devin Taylor, Dylan Taylor, Aiden Wilks, and Clara Wilks; and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Broussard. Preceded in death by his parents Otis Broussard, and the former Marie Romero; one son, Donald "Quank" Broussard, and one brother James Broussard The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Cheryl Broussard and Hospice Amedisys for their care and support for Mr. Broussard throughout his illness.
