JeaneretteMass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Eunice Blanchard Hebert, 107 on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at 10:30AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux Officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 8:00AM until service.. Eunice had a special devotion to St. Theresa "The Little Flower" all her life. It is appropriate and a Blessing that we will be celebrating her life on the feast day of St. Theresa. Born in Loreauville and a lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Arthur Hebert, the former Eunice Blanchard spent a lifetime being a wonderful caregiver to those she loved. Anytime a family member was ill and needed someone to care for them Eunice was there to nurse them back to health. She was a loving mother, friend and grandmother. She also loved music especially jazz. She and her cherished husband, Arthur owned and operated a flower nursery cultivating chrysanthemums and gladiolas that were distributed to customers to wholesalers and flower shops alike. Eunice was affectionately known as "the Flower Lady" for the many years she grew fields of chrysanthemums and gladiolas. She is survived by her children Bertha Hebert and her husband Marvin of Jeanerette, Gerard Hebert and wife Marleny of Cade, Catherine H. Segura and her husband Donald of New Iberia, and Roselyn Hebert Hummert and her husband Victor of Lafayette; grandchildren Lynn G. Hebert and his wife Mary of Jeanerette, Marlene H. Whitten and her husband Steve, Sr. Mary Clare Hebert O.P., Yvette H. Landry and her husband Corey of New Iberia, Jude Hebert and his wife Kim of Jeanerette, Christopher W. Hebert and his wife Audrey of Jeanerette, Mary Melissa Wiltz and her husband Troy of Breaux Bridge, Claudine and Byron J. Hebert of Jeanerette, Linette H. Wix and her husband David of St. Martinville, Tiffany M. Hebert of St. Martinville, Troy G. Hebert and his wife Camille of Youngsville, Andres Felipe Arana of Cade, Juan Segura and his wife Wendy of New Iberia, Jarrod P. Segura and his wife Kimberly of New Iberia, and Jaime J. Segura and his wife Liz of Jeanerette. Left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephews who loving called her Nannan, Felicia (Sis) Ansley, Numan (Brother) Daniel (Dell)Thompson and her Godchild Gretchel Porche, Corey Bonin and Arlene McWhorten and her devoted nieces from California Karen Ybarra, Renee Blanchard, Paul Blanchard (deceased), Cindy Bevc, Myra Blanchard Stut and Mary Ellen Bradford of Florida and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur J. Hebert; her parents Dozelia Blanchard and her mother Felice Decuir Hebert; her son Paul Hardy Hebert; grandson Perry Hebert; brothers Utcher Blanchard, Armide Blanchard Thompson, Yola Blanchard Bonin and Claude R. Blanchard. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Lynn Hebert, Jude Hebert, Christopher Hebert, Juan Segura, Jarrod Segura, and Jaime Segura. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Hebert, Andres Felipe Arana, Kenny Hebert, Corey Blanchard and Byron Hebert.
