Youngsville - Funeral Services for Mr. John Wallace "Dago" Vallot, 77, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 17, 2014 at David Funeral Chapel of Lafayette with Rev. Randy Michael Vallot, David Lynn Vallot, and Rev. Ted Cox officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. A native and lifelong resident of Youngsville, Mr. Dego died at 7:16PM on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Magnolia Nursing Home. He was known for his love to be outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening and farming. He also enjoyed Cajun music, watching wrestling, and was a former volunteer fireman in Youngsville. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hazel Gossett Vallot of Youngsville; four sons, Randy Michael Vallot of Alto, LA, Todd James Vallot of Meridian, MS, Kenneth Charles Vallot of Milton, and David Lynn Vallot of Youngsville; a brother, Perry "Black" Vallot of Youngsville; two sisters, Doris Romero of New Iberia and Gladys Lasseigne of Youngsville; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John C. and Olive Guillot Vallot; and a brother, Lewis Vallot. Serving as pallbearers will be member of his family.
