New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Wilton Hubert Borel, 83, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Pentecostal Church with Rev. A. L. Lyle officiating. Burial will follow at Beau Pre Memorial Park Mausoleum with Military Graveside Rites by V.F.W. Post 1982 and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at 8:00 AM until time of service. A native of Louisa and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Borel died on Monday, October 20, 2014, at 2:54 AM in a New Iberia nursing facility. He was employed at Morton Salt for 38 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion and was a Past Commander; a past member of the American Legion Past State Commander's Club; a member of Forty and Eight Organization and served as Chairman of the Lydia Veterans Memorial Building. He is survived by his children, Patricia B. Bastanzuri and her husband Martin of Lafayette, Kenneth J. Borel and his wife Cindy of Lydia, Elaine B. Buteau and her husband Lannie of Patoutville and Phyllis B. LeBlanc and her husband Chris of Coteau; his brother, Nolan Borel, Sr. of New Iberia; his sisters, Wilda B. Naquin of New Iberia and Verna B. Eldridge of Youngsville; his grandchildren, Carmen Cetnar, Megan Fouquier, Shae LeBlanc, Alaina Haydel, Amber Borel and Rayner LeBlanc and his great grandchildren, Alex Cetnar, Sidney Cetnar, Wyatt Fouquier, Amelie Fouquier and Aubree LeBlanc. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gretna Landry Borel; his parents, Wilfred J. Borel, Sr. and Elda Sullivan Borel; his brothers, Vernice Borel and Wilfred J. Borel, Jr.; his grandchild, Kody Buteau and his great grandchild, Cohen LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be Kenneth J. Borel, Shae LeBlanc, Chris Haydel, Justin Fouquier, Daryl Cetnar, Chris LeBlanc, Lannie Buteau and Martin Bastanzuri.
