Sylvaria Migues Bonin Mcqueen

LydiaFuneral services will be conducted for Mrs. Larry McQueen, the former Sylvaria Migues Bonin, age 63, on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 1:00 PM at David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Jay Bergeron officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home at 1101 Trotter Street in New Iberia on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 9:00 AM. A recitation of the Rosary will be at 12:30 PM and Services will follow at 1:00 PM. A native of Weeks Island and a resident of Lydia, Sylvaria was a member of the United Houma Nation Indian Tribe. She worked for the Iberia Parish School system for the better part of 10 years. In her spare time she loved gardening and growing her favorite flowers of calla lilies, hibiscus and roses. She also had a love of collecting antiques especially Blue Willow plates, old movies, photography and spending time with all of her family and friends. She is survived by her mother,Thelma Galle' Migues Derouen of New Iberia; her son Troy Migues Bonin and his wife Shelia of Lydia; sister Mona Lisa Migues Williams and her husband James of New Orleans; brothers, Willie "Billy" Migues and his wife Dianne of Lydia, Gary Migues of New Iberia, Edgar Migues ,Jr. and his wife Debra of Lydia, Stafford Migues and his wife Joan of Lydia and Steve Bledsoe of New Iberia; Step-grandson Joshua Speer, Sr. of New Iberia and step-great grandson Joshua Speer, Jr. of New Iberia and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who all loved her very much and call her "Aunt Til" and family and friends who called her "Syl". Sylvaria had a special love for her pets Oreo and Red. Pallbearers will be friends and family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 10 years Larry McQueen; her father Edgar Migues, Sr. and maternal grandparents, Nicholas and Helene Galle'; paternal grandparents, Adolf and Elda Migues and her Step-father Kentwood "Jim" Derouen.
