New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Edward J. "Jimmy" Trahan, Sr., 67, on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 11:30 AM at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Burial will follow in Nativity Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 8:00 AM until the service time. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. A native of Lafayette, a former resident of New Iberia and a resident of Maurice, Mr. Trahan passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at 10:34 AM upon arrival at a Lafayette hospital. He was a retired carpenter, an antique collector and liked to travel. He is survived by his daughter, Katrice Trahan of St. Paul, MN; his son, Eddie Trahan, Jr. of New Iberia; his sisters, Rosemary Couvillier and her husband Harry, Gloria J. Viator and her husband Ovey all of Coteau and Dorothy A. Boudreaux of New Iberia; his brothers, Robert J. Trahan and his wife Margaret of New Iberia, Paul G. Trahan and his wife Betty and Donald Trahan and his wife Tammy all of Coteau; his brother-in-law, Scotty Hulse of Signal Mountain, TN; his granddaughter, Jana Mason and her husband Deale of Franklin; his grandson, Orie Trahan and his wife Raquelle of New Iberia and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Smith Trahan; his parents, Pierre and Louisiana Gonzales Trahan; his brothers, Nolan J. Trahan and Huey Trahan; his sister, Barbara J. Hulse; his step-father, Oneil Boudreaux; his paternal grandparents, Doris and Anne Trahan; his maternal grandparents, Emilian and Marie Gonzales; one niece and two great nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Trahan, Paul Trahan, Donald Trahan, Eddie Trahan, Orie Trahan, Dale Viator and Ovey Viator.
