Henry - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Kern I. Broussard, 82, will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. John Catholic Church of Henry with Fr. Emannuel Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum in Erath. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 8:00AM until the time of the service. A native of Delcambre and a resident of Henry, Mr. Broussard died at 4:50AM on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Eastridge Nursing Center. He was a retired Game Warden after 28 years of service. He was a rice farmer, crawfish farmer, and raised cattle and cutting horses. He also enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nettie Dubois Broussard of Henry; three daughters, Connie Hebert and her husband Joey of Henry, Marilyn Broussard of Henry, and Faye Rodrigue and her husband Randy of Henry; two brothers, E.R. "Bobby" Broussard and Herman Broussard; six grandchildren, Ross Hebert, Rhett Hebert, Rexby Stelly, Reis Stelly, Skyler Rodrigue, and Amber Rodrigue Viator; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ignace and Azema Migues Broussard; and two brothers, Wayne Broussard and Jimmy Broussard. Serving as pallbearers will be Ross Hebert, Rhett Hebert, Rexby Stelly, Reis Stelly, Randy Rodrigue, and Jake Viator. The honorary pallbearer will be Skyler Rodrigue.
