New Iberia- Funeral services will be held for Michael Paul "Mike" Worsham, age 33, on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at 8:00pm at the David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Gary Schexneider to serve as the celebrant with musical accompaniment by Mike Parish. Reading from scripture will be Emily Alvarez and Casie Whipple. In keeping with Michael's wishes, he will be cremated following his services. Visitation will begin on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at 4:00pm until service time with a recitation of the rosary by the Men's Rosary Group at 7:00pm. A native of New Iberia and resident of Berea, Kentucky, Mike died Thursday November 6, 2014 at 9:00pm at his residence. Growing up Mike had a tremendous sense of humor, and was a great baseball player. He loved to go hunting and fishing with his father and uncles. Mike was a hard worker, and very passionate about firefighting. He was a member of the Iberia Parish Fire Protection District #1 and B.O.M. Volunteer Fire Department for over 7 years. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 17, just a few steps away from becoming an Eagle Scout. While in the Scouts, he earned the Order of the Arrow, an award recognizing Scouts who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. Mike's humor carried over into his adult life. He enjoyed making other people happy and was always a joy to be around. Everyone that knew Mike will always have a good story to tell. He loved playing with his nieces and nephews, and adored his son Thomas Andrew. Michael had a big heart of gold, and he will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him. He is survived by his parents, Dennis Ray Worsham and wife Maxine, Christine Chamber Hulin and husband William; son, Thomas Andrew; siblings, Sarah Worsham Gary and husband Jacy of New Iberia, Christa Hulin, Scott Isaac Worsham and wife Ashley of Kentucky; Matthew Paul Worsham, Timothy Charles Worsham both of New Iberia; step-brother, Hansel Christopher Hulin and wife Rachael of New Iberia; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Emily Alvarez; and his best friend, his dog Petey. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Isaac Chambers, Queever Broussard, and Edward "Papa" Broussard; paternal grandparents, Albert and Jewel Worsham; aunts, Brenda Crum, Marsha Chambers, and Leta Chambers; and one uncle, Charles Crum. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Worsham, Timothy Worsham, Hansel Hulin, Robert Worsham, Jason Foster, and Steven Chambers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Chambers, Charles Gisclair, Christian Bills, Steve Chambers, Scott Worsham, and Iberia Parish Fire Protection District #1 and B.O.M. Volunteer Fire Department firefighters.
