JeaneretteFuneral services will be conducted for ST. Paul Derouen , age 86, on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Jody Simoneaux officiating . Interment will follow at St. John the Evangelist Mausoleum in Jeanerette with Military Graveside Rites by the U. S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home at 400 Provost Street Jeanerette on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and will resume on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 8:00 AM till the time of service. A recitation of the rosary will be conducted Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 6:30 PM. Mr. Derouen was a native and a lifelong resident of Jeanerette. He died on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 8:00 PM at a local healthcare facility. Mr. Derouen served his country during the Korean Conflict earning the rank of Specialist 3, which after his discharged from the U.S. Army and prior to his retirement from the private sector he worked for J & L. Engineering and St. Mary Co-Op. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 1425. He loved French Music, gardening and walking. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margie Landry Derouen of Jeanerette; his son, Jason Derouen and his wife Patricia of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Daniel Johnson, Dustin Derouen and Chance Derouen and his wife Lacey all of New Iberia; his great grandchildren, Cohen Derouen of Jeanerette, Tucker Derouen and Kinley Derouen both of New Iberia. He is preceded in death by his father, Alcee Derouen and his mother, Louise Hugh Derouen; his daughter, Karen Johnson; his brothers, John Derouen, Jacque Derouen, Alcee Derouen and Gustave Derouen and his sisters, Therese Tobler, Elodie Moran, Levia Boudreaux and Eldanda Derouen. Pallbearers will be Dustin Derouen, Chance Derouen, Carol Landry, John Boudreaux, Perrique Collins and Richard Landry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Derouen, Cohen Derouen, Roy Eskind and Tucker Derouen.
