Loreauville - Memorial services will be conducted for Curry Edgar Oubre, Sr., age 80, on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A gathering of the family will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, November 15, 2014, beginning at 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. A native and resident of Loreauville, Mr. Oubre passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at 10:26 AM at his residence. Prior to retirement he was a Sugar Cane Farmer and a Boat Captain for Mallard Drilling. He was a Louisiana State Lightweight Boxing Champion. He was received an Honorable Discharge from the Louisiana Army National Guard in 1961. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Aline Thomas Oubre of Loreauville; his children, Curry Edgar Oubre, Jr. and his wife Debra of Loreauville, Charlotte Oubre Chapman and her husband Mitch of Lafayette, Lynette Oubre Pieper and her husband Kenneth of Plano, TX, Keenan Oubre and his wife Debbie of Garland, TX; his sister, Delores Oubre Dooley of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Brennan Oubre and his wife Bojana of Cypress, TX, Keisha Oubre of Loreauville, Brittany Pieper McElroy and her husband Colin of Columbia, MO, Megan Pieper of Plano, TX, Carri Oubre of Shreveport, Bryce Chapman, Taylor Oubre, Allix Chapman all of Lafayette, Grant Pieper of Columbia, MO, Shelby Oubre of Lubock, TX and Danielle Oubre of Garland, TX; his step-grandchildren, Travis Guidy, U.S. Army of Oahu, Hawaii, Chad Guidry and his wife Heather of Prattville, AL and Brandi Guidry Shiner of Loreauville; his great grandchildren, Trey, Kalyee, Brianna, Bianca and Brock Oubre and his step-great grandchildren, Landyn and Paxtyn Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernand and Lotta Broussard Oubre; his sister, Sybil Oubre Mullican and his granddaughter, Joan Aline Pieper.
