Mrs. Breaux graduated in 1944 from New Iberia High School and attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute. As a young woman, she kept busy caring for her five children and husband Ferdinand Breaux, and working as Office Staff for Schwing Insurance Agency. She developed her homemaking skills as a member of the Home Demonstration Club and was a long time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. When her children grew older, Mrs. Breaux became a Kindergarten Assistant with the French Cultural Language Program. She served in the Woodman of the World Fraternal Organization, as a Gift Shop Volunteer at the Iberia Medical Center, and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her most memorable quality is her long time strength and commitment to the faithful personal care of family members through serious illness, including her own father, mother, brother and husband. "Goldie" was always full of stories about the many Cajun families that she knew in South Louisiana; however, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and fifty or so nieces and nephews.
