Abbeville - A full Gospel Service for Mr. Raymond Gagne, Sr. will be held from 12:00PM , on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Harvest Time Tabernacle Church, located at 901 Wildcat Dr., Abbeville, LA 70510. Entombment will be held at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas. Viewing will be held from 9:00AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the church. Raymond Gagne Sr. was born on September 12, 1937 to Gaston Sr. and Celeste Gagne in Raywood, TX. After graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and retired after twenty-three years of service as a Senior Master Sargent. Upon retiring from the United States Air Force, he started his second career with the United Postal Service, where he retired after 17 years. Raymond and his wife Roxie owned and operated their own business, Wedding Kreations, where they worked side-by-side for ten years to create the ultimate wedding experience for couples locally, in surrounding parishes, and as far as Michigan. Raymond was an avid bowler who was a long time member of both the Acadiana Lanes Bowling League and the Lafayette Lanes Bowling League. He participated and won multiple tournaments in Lafayette and the surrounding areas. He was an active member of the Abbeville Rotary Club, where in 2014 he was elected to serve as the club president. Raymond was also a long time member of the Abbeville Chamber of Commerce. He was the undisputed #1 fan of the Dallas Cowboys NFL football team; one of his last wishes was to watch one last football game. His wish was granted, on Sunday evening he was surrounded by his loving family to watch his Dallas Cowboys come back to take down the New York Giants. It seemed as though it was divine intervention; the Dallas Cowboys came back and clenched the win just for him. He enjoyed traveling and eating out with his wife Roxie. He also enjoyed, spending time with his family/friends and attending his grandchildren's activities. He always enjoyed telling old-time stories and funny jokes. Hewas an expert at the game of dominos, enjoyed spending time on his laptop, and social media (Facebook). He is preceded in death by his parents Gaston and Celeste Gagne Sr.; his first wife Theresa Gagne of 29 years; five brothers Paul Harris, Rodgers, Wilfred, Bobby, and Gaston Jr.; two sisters, Christine and Bernadine. To cherish his memory is his wife, RoxieScott Gagne of twenty-two years; six children, Yvette (Jeff) Fulton, Ray Michel (Julie) Gagne, Cynthia Kayati, Raymond Jr. (Michelle) Gagne, Christopher (Twila) Gagne, and JoAnna (Scott) Morelli; three step-children Malcolm (Vanessa) Scott, Dereck (Callie) Scott, and Cherall Scott; twenty-four grand children and three great grand children.
