Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. David Cortez, the former Theresa Trimble, 78, on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in Beau Pre Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00 PM. A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Cortez passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at 4:50 AM at her residence. She enjoyed French, Zydeco, Country and Oldies music. She loved dancing, gardening, entertaining company and cooking. She is survived by her husband, David Cortez of Jeanerette; her children, Lawrence A. Broussard and his wife Kathy, Marcella Broussard Babineaux all of New Iberia, Wade Broussard of Loreauville and Samatha Bodin and her husband Joey of Jeanerette; her grandchildren, Chad Hargis and his wife Keri, Brandon Hargis and his wife Lynsday, all of New Iberia, Dayna Landry and her husband Trent of Lydia, Danna Files and her husband Thomas of Lafayette, Cigie Broussard and Shane Broussard both of Loreauville and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Rose Badeaux Trimble; her brothers, Willie and John Trimble; her sisters, Anita Derouen, Stella Landry, Sedonia Bourque and Harriet Choate and her first husband, Lawrence J. Broussard. Pallbearers will be Wade Broussard, Chad Hargis, Brandon Hargis, Joey Bodin, Timothy Landry and Shane Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Broussard and Kirk Landry.
