Youngsville - Funeral Services for Mr. Brian T. Burwell, 44, will be held at 4:00PM on Monday, December 8, 2014 at David Funeral Chapel of Lafayette. Interment will be at a later date in San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 2:00PM until the time of the services. A Native of San Antonio, TX and a resident of Youngsville Mr. Burwell died at 7:31PM on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. He was an accomplished Cellist from middle school through college having traveled to play with several orchestras, He also played the bass in a country band while in college. He enjoyed every opportunity to go snow skiing with his father and brother. He was taught to play golf by his grandfather. His grandfather also taught him to oil paint awesome mountains. Brian was a Texas Aggie and an avid reader. He worked in the building supply industry for over twelve years; the last six years was with Stine Lumber. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Elizabeth Smith Burwell of Youngsville; a son, Thomas Dow Burwell of Youngsville; his parents, Thomas Carl Burwell and Janet Lynn Farris Burwell of San Antonio, TX; a brother, Kevin Burwell and his wife Jammie of Spring, TX; his maternal grandmother, Gladys Jean Farris of San Antonio, TX; his father and mother in law, Dow and Bonnie Smith; two brothers in laws, Neal and his wife Christine Smith and Matthew and his wife Abby Ohlheiser; a sister in law, Polly and her husband Jeff Edwards; a nephew, Jacob Burwell; four nieces, Aubrey Burwell, Rachel Smith, Abigail Smith, and Emma Edwards; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Burwell; his maternal grandfather, Curtis Farris; and his paternal grandparents, Virgil and Marion Burwell.
