He was a man of dignity and respect who also raised his family with a self sustaining lifestyle. Most of his life was dedicated to working for his family. He grew crops and raised animals on their farm to provide for his family; and with his hands, built what they needed for home living. An important event during those times was getting a pasteurizer for the cow's milk. Mr. Soirez was also known for being one of the best finishing carpenters in the south. He would custom build for others as another means of making a living to provide for his family. So, if he was on the tractor, building something, or tending to his farm he was a happy man. In his later years he spent most of his time in his garden. He loved to grow everything and in unusual large amounts. His family was well aware of how much due to the help and work they put into what he had grown. Mr. Soirez was a very talented man. His legacy was built on hard work, perseverance and love for his family. The love for his family and work he provided to many others will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Soirez leaves behind his 2 sons; Corbet J. Soirez of Indian Bayou, Stewart J. Soirez and wife Betty of Maurice, one sister; Delorez LeBlanc of Delcambre, three grandsons; Duane Soirez and wife Nichole of Maurice, Brock Soirez and wife Sonni of Abbeville, and Brodie Soirez of Coteau, one grand-daughter; Courtney Wiggins and her husband Jimbo of Meaux, and nine great-grandchildren.
