Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Taylor J. Lancon, the former Evelyn Marie Judice, 91, on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 1:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 18, 2014, from 9:00 AM until the service time. A native of Loreauville, a resident of Houston, TX and a former resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Lancon passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at 10:50 AM at her residence. Evelyn will be remembered best for her humor, hospitality and tremendous love for her family. Her pride and joy was her daughter, granddaughters and she beamed at the site of her great grandchildren. She love to laugh and joke and would light up a room with her smile, though her best quality was her generosity. Evelyn was a masterful cook who loved nothing more than whipping up a hot lunch for her guests only to top them off with her famous cookies. But prized most among her family and friends was her white beans recipe, which she lovingly stockpiled so her guests could take them home at the end of a visit. Evelyn enjoyed the simple things in life, proving that a life worth living ended with a piece of pie for dinner. She is survived by her daughter, Judy L. Pugh and her husband Joe of Houston, TX; her granddaughters, Rachel P. Rosen and her husband Kyle of Dallas, TX and Ashley P. McDonough and her husband Robbie of Houstn, TX; her sister, Eloise Verret of Broussard and her great grandchildren, Evah and Stella Rosen both of Dallas, TX and Liam and Molly McDonough both of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Taylor J. Lancon; her father, Dumas Judice; her mother, Anaise Dugas Judice; her sisters, Leona Landry, Rita Babineaux, Yolande Pitre, Euline Lancon and Inez Cormier and her brothers, Alfred "Bean" Judice, Louis "Nago" Judice and Andrew Judice. Pallbearers will be Joe Pugh, Robbie McDonough, Kyle Rosen, Eddie Lancon, Donnie Thibodeaux and Kenneth Verret. Honorary pallbearer will be Leroy VanBrocklin.
