Alvin Tauzin

Loreauville - Funeral services will be conducted for Alvin J. "Te-Al" Tauzin, 82, on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Buddy Breaux officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, December 29, 2104, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at 8:00 AM until the services. A Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 PM. A native and resident of Loreauville, Mr. Tauzin passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 4:30 AM at his residence. He retired from Shell Oil Company at 39 years of employment as a Production Superintendent. He was an avid Golfer, Hunter and Fisherman. He was a Light Weight State Champion High School Boxer. He was Veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Loreauville Council. He loved keeping up his lawn and was often seen riding his lawnmower. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Faye Broussard Tauzin of Loreauville; his daughters, Mitzi Eldridge and her companion Erne Plessala, Jr. of Loreauville, Yvette Broussard and her husband Rod of Broussard and Michelle Tauzin of Loreauville; his son, Curt Tauzin of Loreauville; his brother, Richard Tauzin and his wife Mary Ann of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Brant and Alix Eldridge, Tristin, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Chloe Tauzin and Larson Fremin and his great grandchildren, Bralyn and Talon Eldridge, Alycee Reed and Jeanne Avery Broussard. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Tauzin; his mother, Edmonia Crochet Tauzin and his sister, Ethel Mae "Butch" Robin. Pallbearers will be Tristin Tauzin, Brant Eldridge, Larson Fremin, Benjamin Tauzin, Rod Broussard, Erne Plessala, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Tauzin, Todd Tauzin, Andrew "T-Pee" Bonin, Kent Bonin, LonBonin and Richard Tauzin. The family would like to thank his caregivers, especially Tammy Barnett, for the care given to Mr. Tauzin during his illness.
