Erath - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Hadwing Joseph LeBlanc, 84, will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Fr. Nathan Comeaux officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM followed by a tribute to Mr. LeBlanc's life. Visitation will resume on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Mr. LeBlanc a native of Delcambre and a resident of Erath died at 8:25PM on Wednesday, December 31, 2015 at his residence with his family and friends by his side. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 279 for over 50 years. He was a prayerful and devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and enjoyed working with cattle, gardening, cooking, traveling, horse racing, and baseball. Mr. LeBlanc had a strong work ethic and a great sense of humor. He could hold a conversation with anyone on just about any subject. He is survived by a son, Karl J. LeBlanc and his wife Shelley of Kingwood, TX; three daughters, Charlene LeBlanc Dennis of Youngsville, Melanie LeBlanc of Lafayette, and Vanessa LeBlanc Hebert and her husband Milton Hebert, Jr. of Moss Bluff; three sisters, Della Lopez of Erath, Eldred Landry of Coteau, and Lea Anna Richard of Abbeville; six grandchildren, Tiffany Dennis, Rob Dennis, Tyler Dennis, Emily Hebert, Thomas Hebert, and, Caleb Hebert; and a special friend, Dareleen Vice. He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Loguion LeBlanc; his parents, Simonette and Edith Bouillion LeBlanc; three brothers, Dallas LeBlanc, Stafford LeBlanc, and Hargest LeBlanc; and a son-in-law, Bobby Dennis. Serving as pallbearers will be Karl LeBlanc, Milton Hebert, Jr., Rob Dennis, Tyler Dennis, Thomas Hebert, and Caleb Hebert. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lance LeBlanc, Locke Stafford LeBlanc, Monica Richard, Darrell LeBlanc, Gerald Oliva, Curtis LeBlanc, and Jessica Romero Stein. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. LeBlanc's caregivers; especially Dr. John Clements with the VA hospital, Debbie White and Carla Dutile of St. Joseph Hospice, Lea Anna Richard, Natalie LeBlanc, and Darlene LeBlanc.
