Jeanerette - Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Daniel Jeffrey, the former Shirley Badeaux, 92, on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at 2:30 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Pat Wadsworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Loisel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 9:00 AM until 2:30 PM. A lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Jeffrey passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at 2:45 AM in a New Iberia hospital. She was a Devoted Wife, Mother and Friend who loved gardening, food canning and especially loved her family. She previously worked as a Secretary at the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce and as a Clerk at the City Drug Store in Jeanerette. She loved animals and was a contributor at Angel Paws Adoption Center, formerly Iberia Parish Humane Society. She is survived by her husband, Daniel "Danny" M. Jeffrey of Jeanerette; her daughter, Rosalie M. Migues and her husband Arthur of Jeanerette; her sons, Curtis J. Mayer, Jr. and his wife Susan of New Iberia, Carl S. Mayer and his wife Cheryl of Rayne and Gordon N. Mayer of Ridge Crest, CA; her step-sons, Terry Theriot and his wife Brenda, Lionel Theriot and his wife Connie all of Baton Rouge and Daniel "Chip" Theriot of New Iberia; her step-daughter, Denise Walker of New Iberia; 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Ignace Badeaux; her mother, Orianna Baudry Badeaux; her daughter, Rebecca M. Buteaux; her step-daughter, Danielle T. Goudeau and her first husband, Curtis Joseph "Popeye" Mayer, Sr. Pallbearers will be Happy Buteaux, Nicholas Buteaux, Oswald Buteaux, Jr., Steven Mayer, Curtis Mayer, III and William Edwards. The family would prefer memorials to Angel Paws Adoption Center at 1314 Troy Road in New Iberia, LA 70563.
