W. Lynn Viator

New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for W. Lynn Viator, 76, on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 12:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Wright officiating. A gathering of the family and friends will be held at David Funeral Home at 1101 Trotter St. in New Iberia on Thursday, January 15, 2015, from 8:30 AM until 12:00 PM. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Viator passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at 2:40 PM at his residence with his family at his side. He taught Math for many years and worked in the Special Education Department with the Iberia Parish School System. He served as Principal at Jeanerette Middle School for 16 plus years. He then was the Principal at the Chitimacha Day School for two years. He loved to read, travel and cook. He also was a religious person and loved his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Catherine V. Belden, DHSC and her husband C. David Belden of New Iberia; his sisters, Nell Viator Webb of New Iberia and Lois Viator Rowan and her husband Rod Rowen of Youngsville; his grandsons, Trey Belden of Roberts Cove, Rhett Mc Clelland and Brandon Lynn Belden both of New Iberia and his granddaughter, Ashley Belden of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Marie Mire Viator; his father, Lionel Viator and his mother, Lily LaBauve Viator.
