Jeanerette - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mrs. Audrey Pepper Landry, age 81, on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2:00pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Charles Langlois to serve as the Celebrant. Reading from the scripture will be Blythe Breaux, Michelle Landry, and Angelle Vice. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Jeanerette on Sunday, January 18, 2015 from 2:00pm until 10:00pm with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00am until time of service. A native of Jeanerette, "Pep" as she was known to friends and family, passed away on Friday, January 16 at 8:50 am at a local hospital. Mrs. Landry was also known as "Puzzle Lady" at Maison Teche Nursing Home because of her love for puzzles. She also loved flowers of all types, going to the casino, and fishing. In her early days, she was a waitress before she became a homemaker and raised eight children. While Mr. Landry was at work, Mrs. Audrey stepped in his shoes and taught her boys the skill of hunting. She enjoyed dancing, speaking Cajun French, and was a friend to everyone. She loved her children, grandkids, and great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children; Marlene Bacon and her spouse Edwin of Osyka, MS; Gordon D. Landry Sr. of Jeanerette, Goldie Breaux and spouse Brent of Jeanerette, Titus O. Landry Jr. of Jeanerette, Tesa Young and spouse Mike of Bunkie, LA, Audrey "Pee Wee" Hebert and spouse Chris "Buck" of Jeanerette, Arthur J. Landry and fiancée Dawn of Jeanerette, Melissa "Mut" Bayard and spouse Dennis "Danny Boy" Jr. of Lydia; sister, Shirley Avery of Houma; twenty grandchildren, thirty seven great grand children and two great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Titus O. Landry Sr; mother, Ida Hebert Pepper; father, Melvin Pepper; siblings, Arnold, Donald, Irma, Irvin, Lloyd, Preston, Melvert, Dudley, Allen and Jeanette Pepper; and sons-in-law, Allen Buteau Jr, and Tommy Sonnier. Serving the honor of Pallbearers will include Travis Billiot, Michael "Mikey" Rogers Jr., Kenny Rogers, Gordon "Spot" Landry Jr., David Landry, Sage Landry, Scott Breaux, and Tavis Landry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gordon Landry Sr., Titus Landry Jr., Arthur Landry, and Brent Breaux. The family would like to thank Maison Teche Nursing Home, Dr. Angela Langlinais, Dr. Paul Gulotta, and the second floor nursing staff at Iberia Medical Center for the care and compassion given to their mother.
