ERATH - A Mass of Christian Burial for Leo "L.J" Vincent, 78, will be 11:00AM Saturday January 31, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath with Rev. Bill Melancon officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Abbeville. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home in Erath Friday January 30, 2015 from 11:00AM until 10:00PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM and will resume Saturday from 8:00AM until service time. L.J., a resident of Erath passed away Wednesday January 28, 2015 in a Lafayette Hospital. He retired from the Abbeville Fire Dept. after many years of service. He was a wonderful craftsman who loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. L.J. is survived by his sons; Keith Vincent and wife Bonnie of Erath, Kevin Vincent and wife Vickie of Abbeville; sister Marion Fredrick and husband Gerald of Delcambre; grandchildren Danielle Peltier and husband Jermey of Erath, Jamie Lavergne and husband Scott of Maurice; great grandchildren Kaleb and Kelsey Yates of Erath, and Austin Lavergne of Maurice. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Barbara Vincent; parents Odey and Etta Vincent; sister Lillian Boudreaux. Serving as Pallbearers will be Scott Lavergne, Jermey Peltier, Kaleb Yates, Homer Stelly, Bob Dartez, and Gerald Fredrick. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kelsey Yates and Austin Lavergne.
