Roosevelt Jean Romero

April 21, 1920 — February 2, 2015

New Iberia - Funeral services will be conducted for Roosevelt Jean Romero, 94, on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at 2:30 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 5, 2015, from 8:30 AM until 2:30 PM and a rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 1:00 PM. A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero passed away on Monday, February 2, 2015, at 8:35 PM in a New Iberia nursing facility. He retired from the City of New Iberia and loved playing Bouree' with friends and playing Dominos at the sports bar. He is survived by his son, Bobby Romero and his wife Miranda of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Donna Faye Romero Bruno, Lucky Romero, Lonny Romero, Chris Pinkston, Shannon Demick, Carrol Ann Ronny and Danielle Breaux and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Maturin Romero; his father, Renee Romero; his mother, Ezuide Viator Romero; his sons, Harry Lee Romero, Lloyd Romero and Gilbert Romero; his grandchild, Doug Romero; his brothers, Robley Romero, Leroy Romero, Lucien Romero, Fernest Romero, Louis Romero and Aristile Romero and his sisters, Shirley Louviere and Mary Joyce Suire. Pallbearers will be Chris Pinkston, Lucky Romero, Lonny Romero, Renee Romero, Bo Romero and Ricky Romero. The family would like to thank New Iberia Manor North Nursing Home and Bridgeway Hospice for their care and compassion. The family request memorials in Mr. Romero's Honor to be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place in Memphis, TN 38105.
