Jeanerette- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. John Joseph Grisiaffi, age 84, on Monday March 2, 2015 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Jody Simoneaux to serve as the officiant. Entombment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday March 1, 2015 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and resume Monday morning from 8:00am until service time. Born in New Iberia on July 10, 1930 and lifelong resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Grisiaffi passed away on Wednesday February 25, 2015 at 10:00am at a local nursing home. Mr. Grisiaffi was a retired Oiler with 30 years of service to the Cabot Corporation. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. At home, Mr. Grisiaffi enjoyed being outside, keeping his yard looking nice, and watching movies and musicals, especially Italian Operas. He will be remembered as a simple, hard working man with an easy going spirit and quiet demeanor. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Myrtle Landry Grisiaffi of Jeanerette; children, Gail Grisiaffi Garcia and husband Donovan of Jeanerette, David Grisiaffi and wife Patty of Tallahasssee, FL, Janet Grisiaffi Kern and husband Jeff of Youngsville; grandchildren, Raymond Garcia, Virginia Garcia Kern, Shane Grisiaffi, Sarah Grisiaffi, Jonathan Grisiaffi; great grandchildren, Bailey Garcia, Evan Garcia, and Skyla Kern. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Rock" Grisiaffi and Edmae Broussard Grisiaffi; and his brother, Gerald Grisiaffi. The honor of serving as Pallbearer will be upheld by David Grisiaffi, Donovan Garcia, Jeff Kern, Raymond Garcia, Anthony Grisiaffi, and Lance Kern.
